What causes this to happen?

Many times it is the strobe setting is either too high or too low. What the strobe setting does is contol the printhead heat and print density.

Possible Correction

Well this depends on if the label is printing too dark or too light. If it is too dark, decrease the strobe setting. If the label is printing too light then increase the strobe setting. Remember to only make the changes in 5 unit increments.
